I became literally a "human guinea pig" and the doctors continued to change my hormones regularly and I no longer felt like my old self. My symptoms included, hot flashes, night sweats, emotional changes, changes in my body mainly weight gain, headaches, IBS, and others. I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster, my lows were very low and my highs where explosive towards the people that I love. I tried every type of Anti-depressant & anxiety medications that are out there with no hope of any type of help in site. I have found after seven years of trial and error some things that help with the symptoms and I would like to share them with you!
#1 Find ways to reduce the Stress in your Life!!!
This is crutial, with emotions riding the waves you MUST find ways to reduce stress in your life!!! Take a time out, split responsiblities of home and family with your spouse, meditation, yoga, take a walk, take a bubble bath. There is always a way to find a neutral location or activity to give you the opportunity to compose yourself and your emotions to prevent you from taking things out on your family. I know a majority of the time you try not to take things out on them, but for all of us it does happen, so it helps to know what to do to have some time to relax and gather yourself!
# 2 Consider Progesterone
Most women never really consider the implication of their hormones on their overall state of health. Progesterone is the “mother of all hormones”. It is the raw material from which your body makes all other hormones. It is not simply a sex hormone as it is commonly assumed. If your body is overloaded with environmental estrogens and cannot produce enough progesterone to counteract and balance them – dis-ease is the result.
BUT, the symptoms of low hormone levels in women are many. Some of these symptoms are so commonplace that we've come to accept them as 'normal.'
NORMAL - is alive, vibrant and energetic.
It is not this:
- Anxiety, nervousness, irrational fears, irritability
- Fat gain, especially around the abdomen, hips and thighs
- Depression
- Cravings, binges and eating disorders
- Fatigue
- Cramps
- Breast tenderness
- Foggy thinking
- Infertility
- Hot flushes and night sweats
- Migraines
- Low sex drive
- Mood swings
These symptoms are usually the result of low progesterone levels and excess estrogen levels.Natural progesterone creams are natural, raise the progesterone levels and provide balance and relief from these undesirable symptoms of low progesterone.
I use Femgest, sold at GNC, and would recommend it. It is all natural and inexpensive. However, there are dozens of Natural Progesterone Creams on the market, so you have the opportunity to do your research and find the one that you are comfortable with. I prefer all natural products, rather than Doctor Prescribed products.
#3 Talk to a Therapist
I know , I know, we're not crazy. I dont need a Therapist, I can handle it on my own, its embarrasing, I have heard every exuse in the book and made every exuse in the book myself. LADIES, please realize no one is saying your nuts! Talking to friends and family is not going to help you with how your feeling. You need an outsider to talk to, an unbiased person with whom you can speak freely with. Often times we talk to our friends and family, but at the end of the day we cannot speak freely. What if the problem is the person you generally go to? How can you be completely open and honest with fear of hurting someone, or information about the conversation getting back to who it was concerning. Finding a good Therapist in your area is well worth the trip to go, you can speak your mind, talk about all things bothering you, be uncensored, truly be able to speak what you feel with no fear of hurting friends or family! Be honest, 90% of the time, friends and family are the cause of most anxiety, so having a therapist to RANT to, with no fear of it getting back to the individuals allows you to release your inner anxiety! Better yet its Confidential!!!!
